Our story

You know you have a good gourmet product when it comes from its mother source.

Our story can be traced back to the homeland of Biltong – South Africa, from the masters of premium quality Biltong.

In 2016, two budding Biltong makers brought their unrivalled secret recipe to the UK, adding new recipes alongside South Africa’s trademark original Biltong flavour.

Today, we have an ever-growing number of members in our club who get their delicious Biltong orders delivered to them weekly.

moisture, and texture.

Zesty with a bit of kick. Seriously addictive.

Just the right blend of sweetness and spice.

Expect smokiness, a bit of zing, and a lot of satisfaction.

Cuts

Shavings

Very fine slices, ideal for salads.

Thin Slices

Thin slivers. Easier to snack and feels lighter.

Chunks

The standard cut. Get a proper mouthful.

Whole pieces

Get an uncut piece of Biltong and carve it
as you like.

Moisture + Texture

Wet

The equivalent of a rare steak. Extra dewy, less chewy.

Normal

Dried just right. Slightly on the wet side.

Dry

Had more drying time. We call this old
school Biltong – perfect for anyone who enjoys a good chomp.

Biltong Shelf Life

Unlike beef jerky that is traditionally heat-dried, Biltong is naturally air-dried.

This means that although Biltong is a preserved product, it’s still a natural food substance that contains water and is therefore still prone to spoilage.

We like to make our Biltong slightly on the wetter side as this makes it softer. The wetter or softer you like your Biltong, the higher the probability it could grow mould and the shorter its shelf life becomes.

To keep Biltong fresh and prevent mould from happening once your order has arrived, store it in an open bowl where it can air and mix it once in a while. Do not store Biltong in a sealed container.

03.

We do not recommend freezing Biltong in order to extend its shelf life as meat releases more moisture once it has been defrosted. Should you choose to freeze your Biltong, however, be sure to defrost it in the driest possible atmosphere.
